VYNI Festival Turns Up the Volume with RCF

The historic center of Reggio Emilia became an open-air urban stage for the third edition of VYNI Festival, held on April 18 and 19, 2026. The event brought together wine tastings, vinyl culture, talks, and live music in some of the city’s most recognizable public spaces.

With a distributed format across four piazzas, 25 wineries, more than 25 DJs and selectors, and a cultural program designed to connect music, hospitality, and the local area, VYNI welcomed more than 40,000 visitors over the weekend. The result confirmed the festival’s growth as a nationally recognized event.

For RCF, founded in Reggio Emilia in 1949 and still headquartered there, VYNI was a clear example of how professional audio can support the quality and consistency of complex public events. Multiple sound areas distributed throughout the historic center required systems capable of adapting to different coverage needs while maintaining intelligibility, musical impact, and operational control in a dense and sensitive urban environment.

Technical production was managed by General Sound, a Reggio Emilia–based company specializing in live event services, rental, and integrated productions. Audio coordination involved Filippo Bonacini, Federico Cardelli, and Gabriele “Gabbo” Antoniol, CEO of General Sound. The team designed a distributed system based on RCF and TT+ Audio solutions, selected for each festival area according to its size, application, and acoustic characteristics.

“The goal was to achieve precise coverage and adequate dynamic headroom while keeping the system manageable within the constraints of the historic city center and appropriate for an audience with a strong focus on sound quality,” said Federico Cardelli, System Engineer at General Sound. “In the festival’s main area, Piazza Prampolini, the system included 18 TT+ Audio GTX 10 line array modules and eight GTS 29 subwoofers, powered by six XPS 16KD amplifiers. The configuration was completed with four HDL 6-A modules, two SUB 8008-AS subwoofers, two NX 15-SMA stage monitors, and two EVOX J11 systems for the Backstage Club behind the stage. System monitoring and control were managed through RDNet software.”

“Piazza San Prospero was equipped with 24 HDL 6-A modules, supported by six SUB 8006-AS subwoofers, four SUB 8004-AS subwoofers, and two NX 15-SMA stage monitors,” added Filippo Bonacini. “In Piazza Casotti, we used two EVOX J11 systems, two SUB 905-AS subwoofers, and two NX 15-SMA monitors. In Stradone Vescovado, for a smaller listening area, the setup included two HD 32-A loudspeakers and one ART 912-A loudspeaker.”

Production coordination was handled by Riccardo Braglia, Luca Reggiani, and Lorenzo Chiapponi, who oversaw logistics. Their work ensured operational continuity across the different areas and supported smooth audience flow throughout the two-day event. Sara Corbia managed the setup of the RCF Backstage Club, designed to welcome guests and artists in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Andrea Miari and Andrea Favali coordinated sponsor relations.

“A festival such as VYNI requires flexibility, planning, and systems capable of adapting to very different spaces within a compact urban area,” said Gabriele “Gabbo” Antoniol, CEO of General Sound. “We have worked with RCF for many years, and I say this first as a technician, then as a partner: the TT+ Audio GTX Series has reached a level that places it alongside established international touring systems. Its performance was evident during deployment. Sound pressure, control, coverage consistency, and musical quality are factors that have led several artists, DJs, and engineers we work with to consider TT+ Audio a trusted brand for their productions. For VYNI, we wanted performance aligned with the highest professional standards, and I am genuinely satisfied with the result we were able to deliver to the audience.”

“VYNI was created to bring different communities together through a shared urban experience: wine, music, culture, and social connection,” said Luca Reggiani. “Seeing Reggio Emilia filled with people for two days confirmed the strength of this vision. In a context shaped by music and vinyl enthusiasts, being able to rely on an audio partner such as RCF and a technical team working to very high professional standards was an important factor in the event's success. Feedback from artists, operators, and the audience was extremely positive, especially regarding sound quality.”
